About

PakTrust.org is a registered British Charity.

PakTrust.org was established as a direct result of the devastating earthquake in Pakistan and Kashmir in 2005. A group of London-based professional family members, friends, relatives and supporters were spurred into action by the earthquake. Our original mission was to provide emergency relief and assistance to the earthquake victims.

Since then, our mission has been to implement charitable projects in Pakistan and Kashmir. Our projects provide maximum value for money for those providing the funds, and maximum help to the people that need it the most.

PakTrust.org is a small charity, but in a short period of time, we have successfully implemented many projects and schemes. A brief  list of the highlights include:

Our original work was in the earthquake effected areas of Kashmir and Pakistan. This work is ongoing, through our artifical limbs project with Fauji foundation Hospital and investment in a school building project with FTCF.

We are also committed to the old saying, that “Charity Begins at Home”. With this in mind, the bulk of our recent activity – funded with donations from friends and by ourselves – has been in our maternal and paternal homelands of Jhelum, Pakistan and Mirpur, Azad Kashmir. These are areas which we are very familiar to us, and in places the need for help is paramount. We endeavour to provide this help through our projects.

Emergencies

Disasters always have immediate needs and long term affects. The Earthquake 2005 was the catalyst for starting PakTrust.org. We wanted to do our little bit to help the victims in the immediate aftermath of this devastating natural disaster. We then turned our attention to Development (see below) by providing long term help.

We will continue to help in other disasters and emergencies by providing immediate life-saving aid and support. And then follow up with long term support to help victims overcome the life changing affects on them.

Development

Our main focus is on running long term projects and programs:

- to overcome affects of disasters

- to lift victims out of poverty by providing education, training and health services.

Make Poverty History

“Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is man-made and it can be overcome and eradicated by the actions of human beings.” Nelson Mandela 2005

PakTrust.org supports the aims of MPH movement. However, we have no grand plans to eliminate poverty.
